The Breast cancer awareness is the programme to inculcate the knowledge of breast cancer in common man which in turn can decrease the fear of cancer. Breast cancer awareness encompasses the education and empowerment of women and men worldwide and encourages them to act as advocates for their own care; it includes a comprehensive plan for focusing on the whole person and the many ways in which breast cancer and prevention can be approached. One of the first components of raising breast cancer awareness includes awareness of education, literacy, and research.

The main aim of the breast cancer awareness is to have a place without breast cancer. The more the awareness is created the number of people suffering from breast cancer shall survive. The breast cancer awareness campaign works to make sufferers and families aware of the places in which to find comprehensive information. Prevention is a large part of awareness and part of the work of the campaign is to make people aware of the ways in which they can prevent breast cancer.

Try a little experiment next time you're out and about. Stop any woman on the street. It doesn't matter if the woman is of Asian, Indian, European or African descent, any random woman will do. Ask her if she knows someone who either has had or has survived breast cancer. Odds are she does. She may have had it herself. Or, it might be her mother, her sister, her best friend or even her daughter. Despite advances in early detection, prevention and cure, those two words still strike fear into the hearts of women all over the world.

Breast cancer awareness is one of the most important events that you can get involved with this October. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is recognized across the country every year as a way to educate people about the risks associated with the disease. Wherever you are, there is a breast cancer awareness event designed to provide information about cancer explaining how to test for signs of cancer and what to do should you have doubts or questions. The first step is to be aware the disease exists, the next step is to self-examine and the third is to set an appointment for a mammography.
