The Dukan diet or Dukan method is a weight loss program created by the French physician Pierre Dukan. It is a kind of hyper-protein diet (see diet protein diet and protein), which has consumed a large amount of protein and low in fat and carbohydrates. With this background, the method tries to take food Dukan "founders of the human species, which are 100 (72 and 28 of vegetable protein). As a high protein diet, muscle mass is preserved and what is lost is fat.

The Dukan diet consists of four phases:

Cruise phase: This phase introduces the vegetables, alternating with the pure protein. This phase lasts until you reach your ideal weight. Food permits are in addition to the previous phase: tomatoes, cucumbers, radishes, spinach, asparagus, leeks, green beans, cabbage, mushrooms, mushrooms, beets, fennel, lettuce, endive, chard, eggplant, zucchini, peppers and carrots. And "Do not eat beans, potatoes, cereals, beans and avocado.

Consolidation phase: This phase aims to prevent rebound or yo-yo. Its duration will be determined within 10 days for every kilo lost, so if you have lost 5 pounds and will last 50 days. At this stage you can not eat: bread, cheese, potatoes, rice, corn and fruit.

Stabilization phase: In this final stage is returned to a normal, balanced diet for a critical condition, one day a week for the first phase of Dukan diet.

Within 4 stages of The Dukan diet, take 1 ½ to include the gallons of water a day, eat oat bran every day and walk every day between 20 and 30 minutes.
